My Blue Jays just went down 5-2 to the Oakland Athletic's (A's)... *whimpers* Although, for some reason I don't fully grasp being an Australian and not brought up on baseball, they never get overly excited or upset about winning or losing... it just seems to be the run of the mill...
Anyway - my day has been good... slept all of yesterday, and I mean like all of it! Was awake for like a total of 6 hours or something... still knackered, but I'm hoping I can get over it sometime soon... Watched Oceans 12 - great movie! Updated my blog - not this one, the news one - and then headed up the street.
Posted a cheque to my doctors, bought cat food, junk food, fruit juice, cordial and some tea, a six pack of UDL's Vodka + Lemon, Lime and Soda, and also lunch; 1/4 Chicken and Chips (with a wing piece) and 2 potato cakes (with extra chicken salt on everything).
Came home, and watched the game! Walk home was tough, but listened to the 2 Guys, a Mic and a Podcast podcast as I walked, which was nice! Great to hear about all the news in Geek land from Geeks imho.
As for now? I'm gonna go take a nap, and then come out and see who's playing football tonight. In fact... *hits ctrl+t* Oh crap! Collingwood are playing, which means, I think I'll want to be far away from my father as he bellows on about how his team isn't playing like he thinks they should! BAH! And with nothing more to do in my self-imposed writing break, sleep is the next best option. That and reading and podcasts!
Well, I'll take my leave of you, make sure to check out http://joshshill.wordpress.com for all the latest in Tech and related news (and man do I sound like an advertisement), and I'll continue to think about the possibility of writing a book on my journey out of depression named '41: The Meaning of Life and How I nearly found it (or, my journey out of Depression'. A long title, but aren't they all the rage? And it's funny!
Cheers,
Josh
In short - I'm taking time off... at least from my head! I'm not going to try and write any stories, just watch TV, baseball (hopefully my Blue Jays can beat Seattle, and then Oakland) and read! I'll continue with my news blog at http://joshshill.wordpress.com, but apart from that, I'm leaving my head!
I'll also hope to keep this blog going... although, we'll see what happens!
As for what I'm reading at the moment?
A great book, definitely one of my favorites in the Pratchett world. I just finished reading it's predecessor this morning having woken up stupidly! I think I'm going to head to bed now with an interview of Claudia Black from Stargate, and then sleep!
Let's hope!
I've come to a crossroads in my literary life - and I don't know how to proceed. Why? Because I don't know what to write! It's tragic! There are four stories that either have notes or exist entirely in my head, but I simply can't seem to find the rest of the story. They exist in extracts of something larger, but I can't find the larger. It's not a great situation, especially if you're a writer.
Add to that the current crisis of not being able to locate anywhere to have my flickr photos on this site without having to manually link to them here, I'm not having the greatest of days.
What does make up for my current situation is the discovery and subsequent fetal attachment to MLB.tv. It's just bloody fantastic, and so much fun! I can sit here, in Australia, half way across the world from the game, and watch my Blue Jays trounce the Seattle Mariners 12-3!
Of course, a ball game isn't the same without junk food to accompany it, so that was why I walked up and back to Maccas to get myself a fillet of fish meal, no ice in the coke, six nuggets and 2 sweet mustard sauces. It was fricking expensive, but really worth it when I got home and watched my team chalk up another win. Sadly, the Yankees also nailed another win over Texas, keeping us in third place in the east.
Well, that's about it from me - be sure to check out my flickr page as I've just uploaded 3 more photos (well, I will have soon) that I took on my walk. One incredibly stylish apartment complex and one hideous Chevrolet limo!
Josh
Well... welcome, to my vox blog! It's my first serious foray in to the world of social blogging, as I just would NOT move near myspace! But, after hearing Leo Laporte on TWiT mention Vox, I thought I'd have a look. Just today, I received my invitation, and I've come to set it up! I'm really hoping that I can invite people, but we'll see!
If you want to read my real blog, check out http://joshshill.wordpress.com.
As for this site? Well, we'll wait and see if I have a use for it... but I definitely wasn't letting the opportunity slip through my hands. Please, add me, or whatever!
Cheers,
Josh
